Taking a river cruise is great way to explore Paris. The Seine River runs through the heart of the city, passing next to Notre Dame.

St. Stephen’s Cathedral is the focal point of downtown Metz. While impressive during the day, it is even more impressive while illuminated at night.

The best thing about the experience is being able to travel: having a three day weekend every weekend is amazing and with lots of holidays in the fall, many weekends were even longer.

Introductions

My name is Patrick Rucker and I am a 4th year Electrical Engineering student at Georgia Tech. I got the privilege of studying abroad in the Fall of 2009 at Georgia Tech Lorraine. My experience there was amazing: in the course of 15 weeks I explored 10 different countries and truly reshaped the way I think about the world. I truly believe that this has been the most rewarding experience in my college career, so much so that I am returning to GTL this Summer & Fall (2011).

Bahn.de

This site is absolutely the best for planning trains in Europe. While it doesn’t always allow you to book every route, it’s great for planning and determining the cheapest routes/paths to take.

The best part of Georgia Tech Lorraine is the freedom to travel and explore Europe on the weekends. I stood in the Coliseum, experienced Prague, explored castles in Füssen and enjoyed snails in Paris all in the course of a semester.
